A single, singular style, in terms of look as well as theme, is apparently a way to creating a successful brand... Ugh, that sounds terrible. A defining aesthetic? Not much better... Something that people will know is yours and - most importantly - will then come to associate with quality. Which will then become a successful brand. A USP.
So here use of a particular camera (even a mobile phone) can be a positive, and software used (Snapseed, Pixlr) a point of interest. Snapseed offers savable Looks, but when trying to make the most of each image, obviously not every photo benefits from the same enhancements. The challenge then is to now define what can be applied to all - what feels Old Kent Road and nearby in terms of colours, lighting, maybe framing, and what can be added to in-camera focus, composition and possibilities. To create pictures that show why they were taken (including just for pleasure?) and have meaning and message in the things which themselves make it, hopefully, a good photo. To focus on this technique may help the overall photo, and photographer - it might also give me a break, to think even more than now about looking for and finding beauty rather than often being motivated at some level by anger or something depressing. Technology aiding creativity aiding comment. All aiding the other, whatever the starting point. The experiments begin...
