The morning of Monday, November 12th. Not sure when this went up, but it looks like it's staying there for while at least (still there today) if only because of the hassle to get it down. Or because those criticised by it don't care - more plans going ahead, Ruby Triangle skyscrapers (right next to this) passed, Aylesbury confirmed, Tidemill being enforced. The Grenfell Inquiry is ongoing, too. A good time to bury bad news, with the Brexit breakdown? Some apparent change is claimed with more care for those affected at Aylesbury rather than the original 'just get out' plans. We'll see. Whoever put this banner up there obviously thought it worth the considerable effort, for the encouragement at least of those at the Ledbury Estate, directly opposite. There too the council listened, eventually, it seems. But housing is still the thing on minds most I'd guess, more than Brexit. The celebrities and news agenda and politicians are talking right now about listening to people 'outside the bubble', which may mean something is getting through to them. Something like housing is one of the causes, I'd say, of the Leave vote, rightly or (more probably) wrongly, but for now they still prefer a fashionable news item, understandable at the moment of course, but still focusing mainly on symptom not cause, misreading the mood. Even not seeing so many 'regretters' have changed their mind about the Brexit vote shows too many still don't see far enough beyond their self-obsessed world, or don't want to. But with at least the recognition that their must be a change in attitude towards the so-called 'ordinary people', might they finally be treated with something other than contempt?
